Tired of the same ol' Saturday Cartoons?  Make your own!  Spend Saturdays animating drawings, cutout characters and plasticine.  Each Quick-Kid makes their own short animated movie that is compiled onto a DVD--just like having your own mini film festival. Children 9-14 years old welcome.

Intro to 2D Animation gives you an inside look at how classical animation is produced, guiding students through the stages of development and production. Course outlines early animation devices, film and digital technology as well as introductions to a variety of techniques.

You will make a variety of animation toys, a flipbook, a morph, a bouncing ball and walk cycle to add to your portfolio.

Toon Boom is a fun and versatile animation program that allows you to create animations using traditional paper drawings or by creating drawings digitally.

Learn to use powerful features of Toon Boom Studio such as using pegs, cut-out character animation, transform tools, layering, 3-D mult-iplane environments, rotoscoping, drawing and painting, lip sync, working with backgrounds, scene planning tools, special effects and more! Sharpen your animation skills learning principles such as such as weight, overlap, timing, cycles, anticipation, straight ahead vs. pose to pose, and squash and stretch all within Toon boom Studio. Combine sound, animation and concept to realize your ideas!

Students must have completed an introductory level animation course or otherwise have the instructor's permission to register for this course.
