Winter Stop Motion Workshop (Online)

Date: Sunday,  January 10/ 2021
Instructors: Simon & Vinson Chan
Fee: $5 for QAS Members; $10 for Non-Members
Ages 10+

Join us for this fun and interactive winter themed stop motion workshop with the creators of the incredible animated short film “The Legend of Bunny Phantom”! These animation pros will help you learn the basics of stop motion animation using paper cut puppets and backgrounds. You’ll learn some movement basics, get to meet some QAS members, and create a collaborative film celebrating our coldest season!

You’ll want to have a good computer with a webcam that can run zoom, a smart device and camera stand or other type of rig that can support it (message us for DIY ideas), a stop motion app installed on it (we recommend Stop Motion Studio- It’s FREE!), and some additional craft materials like construction paper, scissors, tape, colouring supplies, and drawing materials.

Rentals are available through Quickdraw https://quickdrawanimation.ca/production/services/

We appreciate that people’s plans and circumstances can change, and that sometimes it will be necessary to cancel your registration in a workshop. However, since our workshops are so small, last-minute cancellations can be very difficult for us to deal with—we need time to make sure that we can reach out to members on the waiting lists for the workshops, and to be sure that we have the minimum enrolment we need to run each event.

Participants will receive a full refund on fees paid for workshops that are cancelled by the student at least two weeks in advance of the first day of class. If a workshop is cancelled by the participant within two weeks of the first day of class, Quickdraw will retain a processing fee of 25% of the full cost of the course.

In the event that Quickdraw needs to cancel the workshop, whether due to COVID-19 precautions or other circumstances, participants will receive a full refund.
