Nakoda AV Club Promotes Wildlife Crossings

We aren't saying that the AV Club's animation is the sole reason this new crossing is being built, but we aren't not saying that, either

A rabbit, a fox and a squirrel look at a busy highway standing between them and the rolling hills beyond-all made from cut-out construction paper.

Back in 2019 and 2020, the Nakoda AV Club made the above film with the support of the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative, advocating for more wildlife crossings on the TransCanada Highway to cut down on animal-vehicle collisions. Well, we missed this, but in November it was announced that construction on a new crossing near Bow Valley Gap will start this spring—the first such crossing in Alberta outside of Banff National Park.

Now, we aren't saying that the AV Club's animation is the sole reason this new crossing is being built, but we aren't not saying that, either. However you want to look at it, this is a great example of community-led initiatives making positive changes to our world, and we couldn't be more proud of the AV Club for being part of it
