Kokofreakbean’s Senso-Plexus (2016)
Let’s go full-out manic with this week’s pick.
This Monday Short was originally posted on June 19, 2017, which explains the references to the Canada Day Weekend. We are re-posting Peter Hemminger's Monday Short Blog posts until we've exhausted the incredible archive.
Let’s go full-out manic with this week’s pick. Kokofreakbean specializes in sensory overload, with rapid-fire edits, kaleidoscopic imagery and an aesthetic that somehow seems entirely stream-of-consciousness and incredibly well considered, all at once. Senso-Plexus collects a set of bumpers created for Adult Swim (most of the recent work on his Vimeo page was created for AS), but it seems deliberately anti-commercial, a constant barrage of candy-coloured, vaguely occult-ish imagery that could mean anything, or nothing, or both.
Check out more of his work through his Vimeo—Pizzocalypse is another favourite, and a little more obviously joke-y—and pick up some posters, prints, hoodies and more through the Kokofreakbean shop.
