Animation Lockdown + Member Screening

Two weeks after the frenzied creativity of our Animation Lockdown, we're screening the resulting films in Contemporary Calgary's fabulous dome! See the mind-bending films from the Impossible Shapes edition of the Lockdown and vote for your favourites to win the coveted Audience Choice award!

Along with the Lockdown films, we're sharing a selection of member works from the past two years that, due to [gestures wildly at the world] haven't had an in-person screening in Calgary yet. It's a perfect setting to celebrate Calgary's animation community, and we are so excited to give these films the presentation they deserve.

That's not all! We've also been working with a select set of QAS members to put together an animation installation to go with the screening. You'll see behind-the-scenes glimpses of the artists' studios, artistic interpretations of the films' themes, and other exhibitions that take the animation off the screen and into the physical world.

In other words, we're making up for lost time with this one. Calgary's animation community has been pulling out all the stops over the last two years, and we are, too. Tickets are by donation at the door, so we'll see you there!
