For the past few years, we've been joining forces with CJSW, the Nocturntable, and Twinbat Sticker Co. to share some epic animation as part of CJSW's annual funding drive. And we're doing it again!

On Tuesday, October 26, the Globe Cinema will host one of the oddest double-features you'll ever stumble across. Up first is Empress of Darkness: the Curse of Graxus, the latest adventure opus from solo animator extraordinaire Nick DiLiberto. You might remember Nick from Nova Seed, the sci-fi feature that opened our 12th GIRAF animation festival back in 2016. Well, after that film went out, he spent the next four years making another feature, this one in more of a fantasy setting, but still animated entirely by himself. It's basically an extended action sequence, but that's exactly what you want from an animator with such an epic sense of filmmaking.

The second film will be Pee-wee's Big Adventure, the first and arguably the best feature that Tim Burton ever made. It's a madcap adventure with a ridiculous sense of humour, and a warm heart to go with it. If you haven't seen it, or even if you have, the chance to see it on the big screen is hard to pass up.

Tickets are $15 at the door or FREE with proof (your emailed receipt from a donation made in October 2021 or purchase of a Friends card at the event) of support over $30 for the 2021 CJSW Funding Drive - Radio in Colour. Support CJSW by visiting cjsw.com/donate today and see you at the movies!
