Our young filmmakers continuously blow our minds with the energy, creativity, humour and general amazingness of the films they create—and we think you'll feel the same. If you want to see what the students in our kids & teen camps have been creating over the last year (along with some great, kid friendly shorts, selected from our GIRAF festival films), come to our FREE screening at the Central Library's Patricia A. Whelan Performance Hall on Saturday, September 16, 2023!
Following the FRESH FRAMES Student showcase, there will be a 30 minute program titled GIRAF 4 YOUTH. This is a program filled with comedy, cartoon absurdity, incredible technique, and heartfelt stories that will engage any audience no matter their age.
These films are curated from the 18th edition of the GIRAF Festival of Independent Animation. Every November, we showcase dozens of short animated films that we believe to be the most astounding, inventive, beautiful and mind-altering films out there. Since GIRAF is a festival and doesn't have age-ratings, we have curated appropriate films to be shown to all ages that still show the amazing independent animated spirit.
Timeline:
