The Quickdraw Animation Society is seeking a passionate animation educator to become our next Education and PAW Coordinator!

Job Information:
The Education and PAW coordinator oversees the organization and execution of Quickdraw's in-class animation courses, and our Portable Animation Workshop (PAW) activities.
This part-time role is a mix of in-office administrative (16 hrs per week) and out of office work as the lead PAW instructor working in schools and around the city to deliver our PAW workshops and residencies.
About Quickdraw: The Quickdraw Animation Society (QAS) is a not-for-profit, artist-run, member-driven charity dedicated to all things animated. We program regular screenings, facilitate community projects, have industry standard animation resources, and host animation workshops and courses.
It is expected that the Education and PAW Coordinator will operate primarily out of the Quickdraw office, located at 2011 10th Ave SW, Calgary. Working remotely is an option.
Application Deadline: April 5, 2025
Term: Permanent contract. Part-time hours, approximately 16 hours per week.
Compensation: $22.70/hr, plus PAW instruction hours (variable, estimated average $600-$700 per month). Quickdraw employees receive health spending and professional development accounts.
Job Responsibilities
General Duties Include...
- Collaborate with the QAS programming and production team to schedule in-class courses
- Communicate with students, parents and the public about our animation education programs
- Communicate with schools and community associations about the PAW program, and identify new potential PAW clients
- Be the regular lead instructor for PAW workshops and residencies, and coordinate assistant or other PAW instructors as needed
- Train or assist in training of new PAW instructors
- Assist administratively with major Quickdraw calendar events, such as the Animation Lockdown, Fresh Frames and GIRAF
Who You Are
The ideal candidate is...
- An animator with a background in education, workshop delivery, camp counselling or similar;
- Enthusiastic, outgoing and great at making connections;
- A good communicator, who works equally well in a team environment and independently;
- Good at maintaining a calendar and scheduling, making sure that instructors and equipment are not double or triple-booked;
- Drivers' License and access to a vehicle an asset.
