Budget: Up to $1,000 CAD per video
Number of Videos: Up to 10
Video Length: Approximately 1.5–2 minutes each


About ACLRC
The Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre (ACLRC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing civil liberties and human rights through research, education, and public engagement. Accessibility, inclusion, and equity are central to ACLRC’s mandate and guide all of our public education work.


Project Overview
ACLRC is seeking animation professionals or studios to produce short, animated scenario-based videos for training and promotional purposes. The videos will use full character animation to explain human rights concepts and depict realistic case study scenarios. Videos will be used in workshops, training sessions, online learning, and public education materials.

Scope of Work (Per Video)
• Full character animation (2D preferred)
• Clear visual storytelling based on ACLRC-provided scripts or scenario outlines
• Voiceover and basic sound design (may be provided by the proponent)
• One (1) round of minor revisions
• Final delivery in MP4 format (minimum 1080p)
Videos will be produced on a rolling basis. Proponents may be awarded one or multiple videos.


Accessibility Expectations
Accessibility is a key requirement. Proponents must demonstrate an ability to incorporate inclusive and accessible design practices, including:
• Plain-language visual storytelling
• High-contrast visuals and legible text
• Captioned or caption-ready videos
• Clear audio and appropriate pacing
• Inclusive representation of people and experiences
Experience with educational, social justice, or public-interest content is a strong asset.

Budget
• Maximum of $1,000 CAD per video (all-inclusive)
• Proposals must confirm the ability to deliver within this budget and clearly state what is included


Who Should Apply
ACLRC welcomes proposals from:
• Individual animators and freelancers
• Small animation studios
Applicants should have experience creating animated explainers or scenario-based content and be able to work within fixed budgets and timelines.

• A short overview of your experience
• Links to 2–5 relevant animation samples
• A description of your animation style and workflow
• Confirmation of availability and ability to deliver videos for $1,000 CAD each
• A short statement on how you approach accessibility and inclusive design
