JOB CALL: Storyboard artist for Planet Nova

Planet Nova is a 10 episode animation series that teaches children Anishinaabe lessons on the land, the language, and their teachings. Artists with Indigenous identity or proficient knowledge with indigenous identities preferred. Apply by June 30!

About the Project:
Planet Nova is a childrens 10 episode animation series starring Marsh and Berry who crash land on Planet Nova, and find themselves located on Turtle island. This is where they meet their new friend Nova, an Anishinaabe mushroom cat who introduces them to the land, the language, and their teachings, while trying to help them find their way home.



Payment/compensation: $600 - $1000 for 9 completed storyboards.

Cultural Background Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a Canadian citizen, preferably with Indigenous identity or proficient knowledge with indigenous identities, especially Anishinaabe/Ojibwe, people with disabilities, racialized persons and women are also encouraged to apply.

Length of work: 2-4 months

Starting date: July 2026

Description of duties: Create 9 story boards from the finished scripts. This will be for about 10 - 15 minutes of animation per episode.

Skill/technology requirements:
Proficiency with creating storyboards from a script, preferably in Clip Studio Paint. Understanding of animation, 3D knowledge is a bonus. (portfolio required). Junior artists are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with cuter style, EX. Bee and Puppycat, Hello Kitty.
